Summerfield Architectural Committee

Purpose:

The Summerfield Civic Association Architectural Committee is dedicated to helping maintain the attractiveness and property values of the Summerfield Community.  The committees’ purpose is to provide direction to homeowners on how to keep their property well maintained, and to ensure consistent application of rules in order to maintain an attractive and desirable appearance in our community.  The Architectural Committee supervises and controls the external design, appearance, location, and maintenance of any and all improvements on any lot or residential unit in Summerfield in accordance with the provisions of the Revised Declaration and the Architectural Manual. 

Membership:

The Architectural Committee is a volunteer group comprised of seven voting members and a liaison from the SCA.  All members serve for a three-year term.

Responsibilities:

No building, fence, wall, patio, deck, or other structure shall be commenced, erected, or maintained upon any lot or residential unit, including exterior machinery for heating and cooling the residence, nor shall any exterior addition to, or change or alteration thereon be made, until the plans and specifications have been submitted to the Architectural Committee and the Architectural Committee has responded with approval in writing. 

Change request forms can be found on this website and at the Clubhouse on the stack trays outside the office.  Your request should be completed in duplicate (2 copies) and turned into the Office where it will be date stamped and put in the chairperson’s box.  Architectural change requests will be processed, in most cases, within 14 days and the work must not be started until an approval has been received.

We also receive all complaints regarding architectural violations.  We try to handle all problems in a timely manner.  Our goal is to work WITH YOU.  We all enjoy the beauty of Summerfield, and our goal is to keep it attractive for our neighbors and ourselves.
